Caring for Your Personalised Workwear

The Uniform Room want to make sure you get the most out of your new personalised workwear items. To ensure they keep the same condition as when they are first purchased, ensure you take note of the steps below.

• Always read the label and other garment wash care instructions.
• Before washing undo all buttons, close zips and remove items from pockets
• Wash at 30° and inside out to prevent colour fade
• Do not bleach
• Wash with similar colours and fabrics
• To avoid excess friction, do not overload washing machine
• Do not tumble dry if possible, dry naturally
• Lay flat of possible when drying to avoid shrinking
• Never iron over the logo – direct heat can cause smudging or bleeding
• Iron on the reverse side using the lowest heat setting

How to Ensure Your Personalised Workwear Clothing Lasts

We ensure high-quality customisation which we know will last long term if the garment if properly washed and cared for.

The key tips are to use as little heat as possible unless your items need to be disinfected. This includes washing on a low heat setting as it is gentler on the fabric and still get the clothes clean. Also, it’s good to let your workwear dry naturally if possible and stretched out.

It’s a good idea to choose mild detergents to wash your clothes in, as strong detergents and bleaching agents will cause fading more quickly.

If you want to wash your personalised workwear at higher temperatures or require very hardwearing items, we would recommend embroidery rather than print as the embroidery can sustain higher temperatures and friction. It’s also important to not over wash if possible, as overall, it will speed up the ageing process.
